Tobermory, Day 1- When I met nature

Hi guys! I am finally back from my short getaway. (Ok, I was back on Thursday, but I was having withdrawals so I didn't do much) I had a fantastic time but I'll let the photos expect for itself :)

We arrived at Tobermory after about 5 hours. Admittedly, we got lost ending up at Sauble Beach. I am not sure what happened but don't blame it on the navigator. Lol.

The ride towards Tobermory took us about 5 hours, since we got lost. It was smooth sailing with little traffic specially as you  go further north. I just had to whip out my camera when I saw this top down car in front of us with an old couple. How very cute, it reminded me of the twenties since she was wearing this adorable head scarf (which she had to hold the whole time because of the wind) with a matching lady like suit.

We stayed at Peacock Villa, on one of the cabins (cabin 9). One of the best place I have ever stayed at. I was pleasantly surprise on how clean and complete the place was. I had brought linens for us to use but I found I didn't need to since everything was super clean.  The cabin had cute kitchenette complete with a bar fridge (enough space to fit three days of food), wooden tables and chairs, side burner, toaster, coffemaker and all the kitchen tools you need. It also has a bbq and a patio table, a double bed, coloured tv with movie channels and even wifi! Bathrooms was small, and expected but running hot water was welcomed and plenty of clean towels.  Price was affordable for this place, and it is about 3 minutes walk to the harbour. We have already decided that we would come back here. We met the owner Karen, who was very welcoming and passionate. She spent about 20 minutes with us detailing on where to go and what to expect, talk about going the extra mile.

I wore this comfortable outfit for the drive. Tank from Old Navy and shorts from F21. Also wearing my energy necklace and bfs RayBan sunglasses.  One of my favourite vintage find is this old mini luggage sold from the mail order catalog of Montgomery Ward.  They operated in the 1872s and onward (out of business now) I did manage to cram all of my clothes in there.

The harbour is a few minutes away so we decided to explore the place as soon as we got there, only going back for dinner.  It was a very nice walk. There is a grocery store (Foodland) if you ever need anything. There are also plenty of places to eat.

My bf made great food :)

Our first dinner. Rice of course, with marinated chicken on a skewer, grilled asparagus and mushrooms. Yum!

Per Karen's advised we found the perfect spot to watch the sunset.

I can't remember exactly what we were laughing at but I love this picture!

  27. when you see all those trees around you a nice sunny day, and an old couple cruising along the highway like that, i think it's worth getting a little lost. i seriously thought of an old movie happening in real life.

your outfit is very lovely. and i love how you incorporated the vintage suitcase with it too.

also, i can't believe that your bf made that food. it just looks too good for a dude to make. hehehe.

so, i like your blog and i'm totally following!
