Tobermory - Last Day :( (Image Heavy)

I dreaded the last day of our trip. I guess it's true what they say that all good things come to an end. The night before it was raining furiously, and continued throughout the morning and was on and off throughout the day. Sleeping in was nice but our plan to go on a boat cruise to venture into another island was quickly made impossible. We spent the day checking out the lighthouse, strolling through town and attempting to shop and joining the locals at a bingo game- my first time! Admittedly, it was fun despite the fact that aside from a few young guys we were the only one in the young category, relatively speaking. I had an idea how to play, but I didn't realize that there was more to it. Thankfully, everyone was ready to help.

Wearing GAP shirt, and Abercrombie shorts.

The Lighthouse, which would have been the perfect spot to catch the sunrise.
Breakfast of champions - yes, its true we even eat rice for breakfast :) All Filipinos would recognize this meal . Longganisa  sausages are just too good.
I really wanted to go here and find some treasures but they were close.

It got quite cold at night. Wearing my scarf from H&M and Forever 21 Stripe Sweater.
For our last dinner, BF made some amazing ribs, steamed broccoli and more grilled asparagus and mushrooms.
Goodbye, our humble abode.
Our drive home, what a difference it was from our drive going there.

Tobermory, Day 2 - Being one with nature

The weather in Tobermory is quite unpredictable. The second day of our trip consists of a 4 hour hike of the Bruce Peninsula National Park where the beauty of the place truly lies. I have never been hiking before. Although, the weather in the morning was cloudy, I expected it to warm up in the afternoon, hence the romper and bathing suit combo that I wore to go hiking. Yes I know who wears that to hike right? LOL. Well, the weather never got warm and the sun only showed itself periodically. Needless to say there was no swimming involve. Nevertheless, I truly enjoyed my first time hiking, and dare I say that I actually loved it. I never actually got tired, just famished at the end of it all. There were also public washrooms in a couple of places, they are the non-flush-able ones where you put some sort of wood shavings, aka, bulking agent after you do your thing.  It was not the best experience but I wasn't expecting any better, just glad that they were present.

This is so cute! I was surprised that there were actually a lot of Americans vacationing here judging by their license plate. These guys were from Pennsylvania.

A few brave souls who took a dip in the water.

The Grotto.

Bf managed to make it down. I wish I went to, but I didn't exactly feel like climbing down with a DSLR in tow, especially without the reward of a swim afterwards. Maybe next time.
Nature is so beautiful.

Newbie.
We hiked through rocks. It was tough and require a good balance.
Stopping to enjoy the view.

Another stop. Same view, diffirent angle,  and just as beautiful.
We were famished at the end of the hike. Good food is a must.

Mini burgers.

Bon appetit

Also, a very big thank you to Divina Joy for my second blog award.  How very sweet of you Divina, I am honoured and thankful.  Please check out her blog. I love reading her thoughts and insights. She is also very sweet.

Tobermory, Day 1- When I met nature

Hi guys! I am finally back from my short getaway. (Ok, I was back on Thursday, but I was having withdrawals so I didn't do much) I had a fantastic time but I'll let the photos expect for itself :)

We arrived at Tobermory after about 5 hours. Admittedly, we got lost ending up at Sauble Beach. I am not sure what happened but don't blame it on the navigator. Lol.

The ride towards Tobermory took us about 5 hours, since we got lost. It was smooth sailing with little traffic specially as you  go further north. I just had to whip out my camera when I saw this top down car in front of us with an old couple. How very cute, it reminded me of the twenties since she was wearing this adorable head scarf (which she had to hold the whole time because of the wind) with a matching lady like suit.

We stayed at Peacock Villa, on one of the cabins (cabin 9). One of the best place I have ever stayed at. I was pleasantly surprise on how clean and complete the place was. I had brought linens for us to use but I found I didn't need to since everything was super clean.  The cabin had cute kitchenette complete with a bar fridge (enough space to fit three days of food), wooden tables and chairs, side burner, toaster, coffemaker and all the kitchen tools you need. It also has a bbq and a patio table, a double bed, coloured tv with movie channels and even wifi! Bathrooms was small, and expected but running hot water was welcomed and plenty of clean towels.  Price was affordable for this place, and it is about 3 minutes walk to the harbour. We have already decided that we would come back here. We met the owner Karen, who was very welcoming and passionate. She spent about 20 minutes with us detailing on where to go and what to expect, talk about going the extra mile.

I wore this comfortable outfit for the drive. Tank from Old Navy and shorts from F21. Also wearing my energy necklace and bfs RayBan sunglasses.  One of my favourite vintage find is this old mini luggage sold from the mail order catalog of Montgomery Ward.  They operated in the 1872s and onward (out of business now) I did manage to cram all of my clothes in there.

The harbour is a few minutes away so we decided to explore the place as soon as we got there, only going back for dinner.  It was a very nice walk. There is a grocery store (Foodland) if you ever need anything. There are also plenty of places to eat.

My bf made great food :)

Our first dinner. Rice of course, with marinated chicken on a skewer, grilled asparagus and mushrooms. Yum!

Per Karen's advised we found the perfect spot to watch the sunset.

I can't remember exactly what we were laughing at but I love this picture!

OOTD - Polka Dot Shorts

It is finally summer in Toronto and I can finally stop complaining about the weather. Today, I finally got a chance to drop by at the Design Exchange to view Princess Diana's dress collection. The fourteen dresses has traveled around the world and its final stop is in Toronto before being auctioned off. Princess Diana had an amazing style and she is a true fashion icon. It felt surreal being able to see her dresses in person.

I will post the pictures later since it is quite a bit of photos. In the meantime, here is what I wore today.
Tank and Shorts: Forever 21
Bag and Shoes: Coach  (seen here)
Belt and Necklace: Vintage (thrifted)
Shades: GAP
Here is a sneak peek of one of Princess Diana's beautiful dress.

After staying at the gallery longer than necessary ( I didn't want to leave) we were very hungry and decided to hit up Woo Buffet Restaurant and Lounge at Yonge and Dundas. I would describe it as a bit more upscale than your typical buffet since the decor is modern and the view of the city is great. The selection of food was pretty good, however some of the dishes were not warm enough, and others taste bland. There are however, enough food that I like. Service is excellent as waitstaff are very attentive. The only thing that I was peeved at was the patio was not ready when we got in at around 5:20. Ten minutes after we were seated, of course the patio opened.
First serving. I loved the shrimp and sweet potato tempura.
I could never eat more than  two plates even when I am very hungry. Although it looks like a lot of food I don't actually eat all of them, although I try to since I hate wasting food. Buffets tend to make money off of me since I eat less than I should.
Desserts are the best part. I skip the fruits and ice cream and go straight to the cakes and pastries. I always save room for them :)

Screw diet, food is my first love!
