Casa Mendoza

Sorry for the lack of post. Been quite busy lately with taking a summer class and midterms fast approaching.

Monday was a gorgeous patio day. We decided to hit up a patio by Lakeshore, Casa Mendoza, an Argentinian cuisine. According to my bf, I have a thing for restaurant that looks like houses, which Casa Mendoza was, hence the name. I do love these kind of restaurant, and Casa Mendoza's decor is beautiful. It feels like you are transformed to another country (Argentina). I love the decor and the patio has a great view of the city. The service was good  and staff are friendly. Our drinks, appetizers and antipasto arrived perfectly on time. We waited for our entree for a bit longer than necessary, but we never had an empty glass before it was refilled.  The food however, I  didn't love too much. The bread was terribly hard and butter frozen. I would only come back here for drinks.

We had the Empanadas as appetizers, described as a homemade flaky meat pie stuffed seasoned beef, olives and chopped egg. I must say that the texture of these empanadas was great. It was nice and flaky. It was missing a kick however that even the salsa on the side couldn't add. 

For my entree, I decided to get the Fettuccine Lobster Alfredo. I didn't love it. I thought that it was too saucy, and there was not a lot of lobster. I don't think that it was worth the $20 price tag.  I only finish half of it and I didn't bother taking the rest home. My bf got the pepper steak at medium. He said that it lacks flavour and there was too much pepper sitting on top. The best part of our whole meal was the potato that came with his steak.
